And it came to pas, when Moses held up his hand, that Israel prevailed: and when he let down his hand, Amalek prevailed. And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. 21.For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example that ye should follow in his steps: 22.Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth: 23.Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously: 24.Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye are healed. So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter. I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him. The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death. |
