And to make thee high above all nations which he hath made, in praise, and in name, and in honour; and that thou mayest be an holy people unto the Lord thy God, as he hath spoken. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat. 1.And the serpent said unto the woman, ye shall not sure die: 2.For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And God saw every thing he had made, and, behold, it was good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day. 14.Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. 15.For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain. |
