Salvation

There's an old saying that everyone wants to go to heaven but nobody wants to die. If a person had bible salvation then death would not be an issue. Salvation is not just a one-time thing, Judas who once was saved died lost; the prodigal son who once was in the safety of the father's house left. Then he came to himself and came back to the father's house. He who endures to the end shall be saved. If you have salvation it means you are ready to go to heaven. Jesus tells us what we must do to be ready.  We must be born again. (John 3:3)

Pray that the Lord would. . .

 Lead and guide your life

 Show you the truth

Lead you to a church that teaches the truth

 Give you an understanding heart

Reveal the meaning of being born again

Send believers who will proclaim the gospel to you in the power of the Holy Spirit

 Open your heart and mind

Give you spiritual eyes to see the truth

Put a desire in your heart to repent of your sins

Psalm 27:1 The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? te LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

2 Samuel 22:47  The LORD liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.

1 Chronicles 16:35 And say ye, Save us, O God of our salvation, and gather us together, and deliver us from the heathen, that we may give thanks to thy holy name, and glory in thy praise.

Luke 19:9  And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.

2 Corinthians 6:2  (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

Acts 4:12  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Romans 10:9, 10 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.   Back to List

Temptation

Temptation is everywhere and we are fools to think that we can't be lured by it in some form or fashion.  Proverbs 27:20 says "The eyes of man are never satisfied".  We must always be watchful and pray to God that the enemy of our souls does not cause us to walk in the flesh.  Jesus warns us in Matthew 26:41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak. God has provided us with a means of escape and the best time to start praying about temptation is before anything happens.

Pray that the Lord would. . .

Strengthen you to resist any temptation that comes your way

Remove the temptation from your mind before it ever reaches your heart

Lead you not into temptation, but deliver you from all evil

Make you strong where you are weak

Give you courage to reject temptation

Help you to rise above any stronghold in your life

Help you to never be broken down by the power of evil

Build a wall of protection around you

Fill you with His Spirit and flush out all that is not of Him

Help you to cling to what is good, pure and righteous

Teach you to walk in the Spirit at all times so that you will not fulfill  the lust of the flesh

Direct your thoughts, words, and steps away from all that is not of Him

Luke 22:40 And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.

Mark 14:38  Watch ye and pray, lest ye enter into temptation.  The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak.

Galatians 5:16,17 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.  For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.

Romans 12:9  Let love be without dissimulation.  Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.

1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Romans 13:13,14 Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in revelry and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in strife and envy.  But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to fulfill its lusts.  Back to List

Trust

Trust, according to the Webster dictionary, means "to have a firm belief in the honesty, reliability, etc. of another.  When things are going well, its easy to trust, but when we are faced with disasters and tragedies or when life throws us a curve that's beyond our control, its hard to trust.  We become completely focused on the trials and difficulties in life and we lose sight of Our God.  In times like these, remember

Proverbs 3:5, "Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding."  God will see us through every situation but we must trust in Him. In John 14:1 Jesus says, "LET NOT your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me."  God wants you to trust him.  Trusting in God means that we believe in that which we cannot see or understand.  Trusting God means that you give up the control and allow God to control your life.  Moses trusted God to deliver the Israelites out the Red Sea.  David trusted God to conquer the giant Goliath.  You may think that you are facing a giant in your life, but won't you trust God?  In Joshua 1:5, "There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee." The promise that God made with Moses, he makes with you today.  He will never forsake you.

Pray that the Lord would. . .

 Increase your trust in Him

Help you to surrender all areas of your life to Him

Teach you to focus on the Lord at all times

Help you to be always rejoicing in hope

Teach you to wait upon Him

Place a desire to read His Word so your faith can grow in His Promises

Help you to believe in the Promises of God

Psalm 34:8  O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that truseth in him.

Proverbs 3:5,6 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Psalm 46:1  GOD IS our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.

Deuteronomy 31:6  Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.

Deuteronomy 31:8  And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed.

Isaiah 25:8  Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:

Psalm 37:3  Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

Psalm 112:7 He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.  Back to List
