Importance of Prayer - Specific Prayers
2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people which are called by name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
John 14:13-14 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.
We know from scripture that prayer is important to God. Jesus was constantly communicating with the Father through prayer. Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
Because God places so much emphasis on prayer, we must constantly seek our Heavenly Father through prayer. Prayer has to be a top priority in our daily lives. But I don't know how to pray, you may be telling yourself. Or I'm lost for words, I don't know what to pray. Whether you're a new believer or one who struggles with prayer, this page will help you grow in your prayer life.
It is important to know that as a believer, you can pray for yourself. If we were to employ a philosophy, it would
be "sure, I can feed you a meal, but if I teach you to fish, you can then provide for yourself".

Precious Heavenly Father,
In the name of Jesus, bind and break the power of all strife, anger, disunity, criticism, pride, envy, jealousy, gossip, evil speaking, complaining, fear, deceiving spirits, religious spirits, occult spirits, spirits of witchcraft and the spirit of Antichrist. that may rise against me or my family.
Destroy all curses that have been spoken against me. I bless those that curse me and I pray for those that despitefully use me. I resist the devil and your word says he has to flee from me. I declare that no weapon formed against me shall prosper. I confess that all my thoughts today will be true, honest, just, pure, praise worthy and of a good report.
I claim a hedge of protection around me. I plead the blood of Jesus over me from head to toe. Thank you for the Holy Spirit to lead me and guide me in all my ways today. Thank you for the whole armor of God that I put on today.
Please give me wisdom in every area of my life. Please help me to be attentive in on my job (my school work) and all you have for me today. Bless me today and help me to be a blessing to others.. In Jesus Name, Amen Back to List
Deliverance
Everyone needs deliverance at some point in their life, because there are all kinds of things that can pull us into bondage. Jesus even instructed us "Deliver us from evil" (Matthew 6:13).People who are bound by the devil want to be delivered or rescued from his grasp and his influences. To be delivered from sin is to be set free from something that is not according to the law of God. There are many things in this world that we need to be delivered from. The influence of the devil is only one, the world is another and self is yet another. No matter what it may be, Jesus is still the answer to all that you need. God can miraculously lift you from whatever is seeking to devour you (Psalm 25:15).It is all in His power to release us from the world and the devil and from all our own sinful nature. Who the Son sets free is free indeed.
Pray that the Lord would. . .
Help you to make right decisions
Give you strength
Show you all that you need to be delivered from
Not let you get bound by things anymore
That you may walk the straight path
Deliver you from temptations
Give you divine guidance
Set you free from anything that binds you
Armor you with the shield of faith, helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit

2 Corinthians 1:10 Who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us.
Psalm 18:17 He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.

2 Timothy 4:18 And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom: to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Matthew 11:27 All things are delivered unto me of my Father: and no man knoweth the Son, but the Father; neither knoweth any man the Father, save the Son, and he to whomsoever the Son will reveal him.
Matthew 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
Psalm 50:15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. Back to List
Faith
Hebrews 11:1 states that "NOW FAITH is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. In Romans 12:3, it tell us that every man has been dealt a measure of faith. You may not think that you live by faith, but in reality, you do. When you go to the doctors, you have faith in the doctors and their diagnosis. When you buy groceries from the store, you have faith that the food is not contaminated. You have faith that your car will start in the morning. Faith is the tiny spark inside of us that no matter what we may know, no matter what "Logic" tells us, we know that God is able. Self and the devil are very quick to send doubts and unbelief. We must be just as quick to proclaim our faith. The limit of our faith is the limit that we put on it.
Pray that the Lord would. . .
Give you greater faith
Give you understanding that your faith is not in the wisdom of men but the power of God
Help your unbelief
Help you walk by faith and not by sight
Help you to bind the spirits of doubt and unbelief in Jesus name
Help you to see with spiritual eyes and not the natural
Give you the ability to believe in Him, His Word, and His promises
Help you to live by faith
Give you peace as you put your trust in Him

And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Matthew 17:20And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief; for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto the mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Matthew 19:26 But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

Family
Family is very important to God. We need to pray for the saving of the family unit, to go back to the old values where the family unit was strong and family ties ran deep. The family was founded upon divine creation and Satan has set out to destroy the family and to cause friction among them. Families used to sit down together at the dinner table, used to do things together and take an interest in each other's lives. Television and more recently computers have all but replaced family togetherness. Members of the family rarely do anything together much less talk to each other. In this fast-paced life, we're living, we need to apply some spiritual brakes, slow down and evaluate what is really important in our lives. FAMILIES WHO PRAY TOGETHER, STAY TOGETHER. IN UNITY THERE IS STRENGTH.
Pray that the Lord would. . .
Help you to understand each other
Help you to keep His commandments
Teach you how to honor and respect each other
Give you encouraging words to speak to one another
Help you to overlook the little things
Show you how to love one another unconditionally
Grant you a loving heart
Keep your family in the center of His will
Place fathers as the spiritual leaders of the family as God intended them to be
Plant His hedge of protection around your entire family
Lead your family in the paths of righteousness
Help children to be subjective to their parents
Restore unity between husbands and wives
Restore unity between parents and children
Place a desire for family unit in your home
1 Peter 3:7 Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
Ephesians 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
Proverbs 24:3,4 Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established: And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

Ephesians 6:4 And ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.
Colossians 3:18-21 Wives, submit yourselves unto your husbands, as it is fit in the Lord. Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the lord. Fathers provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged. Back to List
Fear
Fear is very much a part of our lives. Maybe you're afraid of losing your job or you won't be able to provide for you family. Maybe you're afraid of losing your health or worse yet, your salvation. Without even realizing it, we can become attacked with the "What ifs". What if my business fails? What if the test results come back positive? The list could go on and on. Whenever you are facing difficult challenges, remember that the things that are impossible with men are possible with God (Luke 1:37). In Psalm 34:4, the Psalmist says "I sought the
Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears". If God can deliver the psalmist from his fears, then He can do it for us today too.
Pray that the Lord would. . .
Deliver you from any fears you may have
Help you to not fear men but only fear God
Expose and remove any fear that is ruling your life
Penetrate His Holy Word into every fiber of our being
Teach you to focus on His perfect love for perfect love casts out fear
Help you to place your confidence in the character of God knowing
He is always true to His word and will keep you safe
Help you to walk in His truth and think the way He thinks
Teach you to rely on His strength and protection
Teach you to walk by faith instead of walking by sight
Place a remembrance in your heart that keeps reminding you that perfect love casts out all fear

Forgiveness
Forgiveness is defined as: pardon or excuse a wrong, cancel a debt; give up claim for revenge or resentment; reestablish a broke relationship. To forgive is to trust others as if the wrong is forgotten. It includes a new start in attitudes and actions. Jesus himself showed the importance of forgiving others. He states in Matthew 6:15, But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. So we see the very importance of forgiving others, without forgiving others, we can not have our sins forgiven. In Romans 6:23, it states that the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. We can clearly understand from this verse that sin brings death and if we forgive not others of their trespasses, our sin remains. We must not miss out on the blessings of eternal life through our Lord Jesus Christ who forgave us of our sins, by not forgiving others.
Pray that the Lord would. . .
Give you the grace to forgive your enemies, and to give you a heart of forgiveness
Help you to forgive those that have sinned against you
Help you to forgive yourself
Teach you to love unconditionally
Help you to make proper reconciliation if you have sinned against your brother
Teach you to bless those who persecute you
Give you the willpower to pray for those that despitefully use you
Matthew 5:23,24 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

Gossip
When we gossip, we are being disloyal to God, our friends, and ourselves. A loyal friend is a treasure. When you demonstrate loyalty, people will want to have you for a friend. Gossiping can also be very destructive. When you gossip to someone, they will be on guard, because they will think that you will also gossip about them to others. We should learn to control our tongue that it would not hurt our neighbor with careless talk. Our speech should reflect the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Pray that the Lord would. . .
Help us to commit our speaking only to what is true and right
Help us not to speak harsh words, but to be quick to listen, and slow to speak
Teach us to be mindful of the feelings of others before we speak
Help us to be an example in our speech to others
Protect us from the traps that Satan sets for our mind and tongue
Help us to use our voice to uplift others
Help us to realize that we must be loyal to God, others, and ourselves
Help us to seek His wisdom for what we say and also to what we hear
Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer.
Proverbs 8:6-8 Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things. For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips. All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing forward or perverse in them.

James 1:19 Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath. Back to List
Intimidation
The root of intimidation is fear, and fear causes people to focus on themselves. Its objective is to restrain you from accomplishing the will of God. It causes you to compromise what you know to be right and tolerate circumstances which you shouldn't stand for. The fear of man causes you to withdraw from God and His ways. But God did not give us a spirit of fear but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Tim 1:7).
All we have to do is believe Him and then walk in that power and authority. When your spirit is filled with power, love, and the Word of God, you will not fall prey to intimidation. Don't let the devil have his way -- Break your intimidation. Flee to Jesus. You will find refuge in Him.
Pray that the Lord would. . .
Reveal your fears to you
Give you courage to stand for what is right and for what is truth
Break the bonds of intimidation that hold you down
Teach you to rely on His strength and His power
Help you to not yield to fear
Give you a fear for Him and not man
Bless you with faith and boldness
Luke 12:4-5 And I way unto you my friends, Be not afraid of them that kill the body, and after that have no more that they can do. But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.
Hebrews 13:5-6 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Luke 10:19 Behold I give unto you power to trend on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.
Romans 8:31What shall we then say to these things? IF God be for us, who can be against us?
Psalm 108:13 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall trend down our enemies. Back to List
Jealousy
Envy, covetousness, resentment, suspicion, distrust, these are all a part of the ugly manifestations of jealousy.
Whether you dislike your neighbor because they have a more expensive house or car, it's jealousy. Whether you wish you were the one getting the promotion or praise in the quarterly work meeting, it's jealousy. If you wish you had nicer clothes and did everything to get them, it's also a form of jealousy. Whenever these types of feelings arise, we need to remember what Moses said on Mt. Sinai when he brought forth God's law. The Ten Commandments reveals to us in Exodus 20:17, "Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbor's". If God thought it was important enough to include this message in the Ten Commandments we must heed to His message and not fall into the evil trap of jealousy.
Pray that the Lord would. . .
Deliver you from enviousness and covetousness
Expose and remove any jealousy in your life
Help you to realize that Jealousy is a Spirit and to rebuke the
Spirit by name
Help you to understand His divine will and purpose for your life
Help you realize He will provide all you need according to His riches in Heaven
Help you to fast and bring your body and mind unto subjection
Help you to set you goals on Heavenly things
Help you to be humble
Teach you to love your neighbor

John 13:34-35 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
Proverbs 27:3-4 A stone is heavy and the sand is weighty, But a fool's wrath is heavier than both of them. Wrath is cruel and anger is outrageous , But who is able to stand before envy?
Philippians 2:3 Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each steam other better than themselves.
Galatians 5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another. Back to List
Loneliness
There are many people who don't know how lonely they are. They fill up their day with work, family, and activities, but they still feel a void in their life. They lack that intimate relationship with someone. We all need genuine friendships.
Denying that robs us the fullness of God's plan. In Genesis 2:18, the Lord says, "It is not good for the man to be alone."
The way to combat loneliness is to build solid relationships. The church makes one of the best places to build enduring friendships. There's a common sense of purpose and mission. Another way to combat loneliness is to reach out and help others in need. The loneliness people in the world are those who are afraid of giving to others. The best way to combat loneliness is to start praising God. When you focus your attention on the goodness of God, it is impossible to fill lonely. The Holy Spirit will fill your heart with the awareness of God's presence.
Pray that the Lord would. . .
Help you to reach out to those in need
Help you to trust in the nearness of God
Fill your heart with praises for Him
Guide you to the right church
Fill your life with Christian friends
Help you to give all your cares to Him
Give you strength and courage
Teach you how to be a true friend

John 14:16,17 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the

Love
Deep down inside the heart everyone wants to be loved. Love is the greatest power there is. No matter what people do or say to you, love helps you to overcome the hurts, and yet causes you to show compassion and forgiveness to those who come against you. When you do wrong, love chasteneth. You don't know love until you know Jesus Christ. When you're born of the water and Spirit, love comes pouring in. Love will also start pouring out from you. Love will transform you and others around you. Love forgave our sins. Greater love paid the price for us, his friends. (John 15:13). So let's show love to one another so people will know we are His. (John 13:35) When those around you feel that love, they will respond.
Pray that the Lord would. . .
Open doors for you to show His love
Give you a loving heart
Help you to love your enemies and pray for them more
Change you to be the mirror of Him, to grow in His love
Open the hearts of those around you and to let love into their lives

Marriage
In today's society when many people are afraid to make a commitment, there are more people opting to live together than ever before. Many marriages end up in divorce because people no longer honor the vow they made to each other and to God. For many, marriage is no longer looked on as holy. But from the beginning of creation God ordained marriage, the union of one man and one woman, to be a lifetime commitment. It is true that we are living in a very different time and it takes total devotion to your spouse and especially to God for a marriage to survive. When we marry, we are no longer two but one flesh. Together we must partner with God and allow him to be Lord of our marriage.
Pray that the Lord would. . .
Give you a thankful heart for you spouse
Help you to love one another
Help you to be forgiving of one another's faults
Teach you how to communicate with one another better
Help you to put aside bitterness, wrath, or anger
Teach you how to be tender-hearted toward each other

Obedience
Everything in our salvation is a gift, from beginning to end. God is the giver and we are the receivers, and it is not to those who do great things or that have great riches, but it is to those that are obedient to His Words. To obey is better than sacrifice. 1 Samuel 15:22 says, When we come to the place that we can say "Thy will be done in me", that is obedience. Even though a friend would ask you to go somewhere or do something that you were not sure about, just remember what Paul said in Acts 9:6 "Lord, what wilt thou have me to do?" When we come under the influence of the Holy Ghost, we will be obedient to His Word. Without obedience, you can't obtain knowledge.
Pray that the Lord would. . .
Give us freedom from stubborn habits
Help us to live a consecrated life
Give us willpower to be obedient to His Word
Help us to walk in the fulness of the truth
Lead you to His paths of righteousness
Help us to always possess what we profess
Give you a repentive heart when you have disobeyed His commandments
Help us to be faithful to God in the presence of all people
Lead you in His truth and teach you His ways
Help us to deny ourselves and say "not my will but thine be done

Our Minds
We all struggle with mind battles, the words in our mind that tell us that we are going to fail, or that the Lord really hasn't forgiven me, or that the Lord doesn't care about my needs. God instructs us to not accept everything we think as truth. These lies are just words from the enemy who wants to trap you into thinking that you are no good and keep you from the presence of God. The most powerful weapons against the attack of lies upon you mind are the Word of God and praise. The Word of God is powerful and sharper that any two-edged sword. By speaking God's Word, you reveal wrongful thinking and it will lose its power. Praise is also powerful because God's presence comes to dwell in our midst whenever we worship Him.
Pray that the Lord would. . .
Protection your mind and shield you from the lies of the enemy
Help you to clearly discern His voice from any other
Give you the strength to resist lying thoughts
Show you how to take every thought captive as He has instructed you to
Help you to thirst after His Word and hunger for His truth so that you can recognize wrongful thinking
Cleanse your mind where the enemy's lies have already invaded
Give you a clear mind
Help you to not be entertained with impure, evil, negative or sinful thoughts
Help you to not be anxious for anything

Peace
Peace is something that the world and man have been looking for since the early days of time. Peace is a time of calamity, absent of war, free from disagreements. Peace is a time when a person doesn't have to worry about the storms of life hitting them in the face all the time. Jesus Christ is the perfect peace we all must seek after. In Mark 4:39, Jesus arose and rebuked the wind and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
Whatever comes your way in life, be of god cheer, for Jesus, your peace, has overcome the world. No matter how rough the storm may feel in your life right now, know that Jesus is here to help you through it. In John 14:27, Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Let the peace of God rule in your heart and lets be thankful for His peace. If we want peace, then lets show peace to others.
Pray that the Lord would. . .
Give you the strength to face the challenges that lie before you today

Pride
Pride is when we start thinking of ourselves. It is the "I" disease. It is when we think that the things we have accomplished or accumulated in life are due to our own powers and abilities rather than God. Pride prevents us from seeing any wrong in ourselves. It separates us from God. Pride makes us stubborn and makes us put on false fronts. It makes us think we are better or know more than another. May the God of heaven help us not to think of ourselves more highly than the King Himself. Satan thought this way once and it cost him his place in heaven. In life, we need to always remember that all glory and honor belongs to God and not to man.
Never should we try to think of ourselves better than another for we are all sinners, saved by His grace. Is pride affecting you? Are you afraid to share your faith because of what others will think? Are you afraid to reach out to someone for fear of being rejected? Are you afraid to step out in faith for fear of failing? If the answer to any of these questions is yes, then you are placing more importance on self than on God and pride has entered your life. You need to repent of this sin and ask God for His forgiveness.
Pray that the Lord would. . .
Remove the "I" from your life and help you to focus on Him
Reveal any pride in your heart
Clothe you with the humility of Christ
Grant you a humble heart

Remind you that He died for the whole world
Help your understanding, that He is the one to be exalted
1 Peter 5:5, 6 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time.

Priorities
We all have many different ideas about what our priorities should be in life. We struggle daily to keep a right order of priorities. We get consumed with family, work, home, church, friends, and activities. We may feel that our lives are full and we have no time to do anything else. What are your priorities? What or who comes first? Where's God in your life? If your schedule doesn't allow time for you to be with God and draw on His strength and power, then you need to rework your priorities. It's not the amount of time we spend alone with Our Lord. We need to make Jesus feel like He's top priority in our life. Is He? He should be! No matter what else is going on in your life, you need to put God first in your life. We know that God will work out things for our good and will bless us when we walk accordingly to His Word.
Pray that the Lord would. . .
Help you to seek Him everyday and put Him first on your priority list
Set your priorities in perfect order
Teach you how to prioritize everything riding yourself of those things that have no lasting purpose

Protection
Evil is something that pursues us everyday. Peter tells us that Satan "prowls like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour." (1 Peter 5:8) He is active and working, scheming to cause us to stumble. His traps are well hidden and often times elegantly disguised. Only God knows what traps the enemy has laid to bring illness, disease, violence, accidents, and destruction into our lives. Are we really safe? According to God's Word, we are. In Proverbs 30:5, He promises that He will be a shield to those who put their trust in Him. Accidents do happen, even to godly people. That's why we should continually pray for protection from the forces of evil.
Pray that the Lord would. . .
Protect you from any illness, disease, accident, danger, or evil influences
Keep you safe at all times
Give you wisdom and discernment that will help you to not fall into danger
Give you strength to defeat the enemy
Help you to recognize and avoid the evil Satan has planned for you
Shelter you with His divine hedge of protection
Give you supernatural grace to sustain the trials you are facing
Give you strength to endure the pressures of this world
Be your strength, shield, and stronghold against anything that may come your way
Protect you from the pressures of sinful, negative spirits that you may encounter
Lead and guide you in every situation that comes your way
Help you to be obedient to His Word
Give you insight into the cunning craftiness of the enemy

Repentance
Repentance is one of the greatest needs in our life today. Jesus said, "I tell you, nay: but except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish." (Luke 13:3) It is misunderstood because people do not understand what repentance is. How do you repent? Tell God that you are sorry for your sins. Ask Him to forgive you, He is faithful to forgive you of all your sins and to cleanse you from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). You need to turn away from your sins. If you sin then you need to repent. True repentance means having so much remorse over what you've done, that you won't do it again. It changes your heart and the way you think. God is very specific here in His word and it is easy to understand, do it or perish.
Pray that the Lord would. . .
Help you to overcome sin
Hide His word in your heart so you will not want to sin
Help you to not be put in a position to sin
Provide a way to escape sin
Reveal sin to you
Give you wisdom to do right
Lead and guide you into the paths of righteousness
Convict you of the sins in your life
Reveal and cleanse the hidden sins in your life
Rid you of the pride that causes you to hid your faults
